And, I don’t mean to misdirect credit, but, if you remember, were you introduced to Seamus Heaney by Rick, as I was?

My memories of Rick are full of fun & insight, words that also come to mind when reading your posts. Further,
“Memories of Rick” (and you) is unbelievably ironic, as we live within 10 miles of each other, but haven’t physically seen each other in years. Even before coronavirus!

Please give Rick a hug & hello from me.larawrighthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14559615939518144892noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-839765973714522260.post-62174102427239425692020-03-24T16:55:40.378-07:002020-03-24T16:55:40.378-07:00Thank you Jack! Unfortunately, as a species, we’re not too disimilar to our viral antagonist. We plow forward with minimal regard and leave others to consider the wreckage. My parents worked in newspapers, now they do other work and cover their community through post to their publications Facebook account. I worked with children on a soccer field, now I work in a Zoom gallery. The Luddite and the hermit are the least disrupted at this time, but does their self-exclusion shape the future? For themselves, yes. For society, emphatically no. I think the question then, is how to give form to this chaotic creation/invasion? Which leaves us in the unenviable and humbling position of changing what we can, when we can, as we can.

Thanks for the opportunity to think and share. :-)Jackhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02562996789328647935noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-839765973714522260.post-85391943348298744672020-03-21T21:26:41.504-07:002020-03-21T21:26:41.504-07:00Yes, there have been moments this week that made m...Yes, there have been moments this week that made me doubt my parenting skills, for sure! I do find myself asking her not to be a beast towards her sister. My time will come. I mean she did scream one night out of the blue, ‘I HATE YOU! YOU ARE THE WORST MOTHER IN THE WHOLE WORLD!’ Other than that, she acts like I am still awesome and fun to be with. Oh the screaming thing was because I didn’t beat the shit out of her brother for teasing her about not being more athletic. Um, we had just driven away from a class where she danced for 3 hours straight. I told him to zip it and knock it off. I just didn’t really take the insult all that seriously because it was so unfounded. Mini thought otherwise.
